    Description

    CABINET PHOTO OF TWO CHILDREN BY FAMOUS MISSOURI PHOTOGRAPHER WITH VIEW OF HIS GALLERY by LaTour Sedalia Missouri. About 1880s. 6 1/2” X 4 1/4”. Not faded but he used a very light background. The children’s faces are very clear. The back shows the exterior of his gallery with an eagle and a camera on top of the building. Identified in writing on the back as Lillie and Hustin Wakefield. William Latour was President of the Missouri Society of Photographers and was originally taught how to make daguerrotypes at a very young age by Augustus Plitt in St. Louis. In VG+ condition.
